Devon win the 2008 Channel League title Gwent have kindly done Devon a favour by defeating the mighty Gloucs on Sunday 5th October at Bristol & Clifton by 8 points to 7, giving Devon an unassailable lead in the League. The match on Sunday 12th October at Saunton West will still go ahead as re-arranged with Devon hoping to make it 6 matches out of 6.
EGU Seniors County Finals at Trentham GC on 7-9 October The selection Committee has announced the team to represent Devon in the EGU Seniors County Finals. Those selected to join Team Manager and Captain, Richard Brown (Okehampton) are: Jon Gynne (Yelverton), Jim Pettigrew (Churston), Grahame Sanford (Staddon Heights), Tony Stanton (Stover), Paul Vicary (RND), Michael Wigley (RND) and Brian Winteridge (Churston).

Adult Junior Foursomes, 28 Sept at Portmore After a delayed start for fog, the 18 hole tournament got underway at 11.50 and was completed using a two-tee start format. The Winners were Marcus Dove and Will Thorne from the Warren Golf Club with 39 points closely followed by Portmore's Colin Brooks and James Poole (38 Points). 49 pairs took part.

Seniors Handicap Championship 25 September On a glorious sunny day at Bigbury, Micky Pye (Ilfracombe), a long-time supporter of the event, won the coveted Veterans Challenge Trophy by just one Stableford point.
Devon bag 1st South West Seniors League Title Devon Seniors were confirmed as the first winners of the new South West Seniors' League with a thumping 12½ to 2½ win over Somerset at Tiverton on 11th September. Devon, undeafeated with two wins and two draws, finished a ½ point ahead of Gloucestershire.
James Ruth (Professional Golfer & former Devon County Player) Perhaps you were wondering about the progress of James Ruth. He has been a Pro for nearly two years and has just won his last event in Germany, at the Preis des Hardenberg Golf Resort. This was his third win of the season and his second consecutive win. The win puts James to number 1 in the order of merit and also guarantees him a Challenge Tour Card for next season after completion of the European Tour School Stage 2 in November. 2008 Men's Scratch Order of Merit Winner  Jon White (Saunton) has won the 2008 Scratch Order of Merit by virtue of having an unassailable lead. Jon now has 62 points out of a maximum 70 after winning the Rowbotham Trophy as the leading Amateur in the DPGA Devon Open played at Saunton. Harry Greenberry finishes tied 7th in EGU Reid Trophy This 3 round national event was curtailed to 2 after rain affected play on 1st day. Harry Greenberry (Exeter) finished a very creditable 7th= in this important National Tournament for the U14s played at Coxmoor GC in Notts between 13 & 14 August. Well Done Harry!
